I made this thread to answer any questions about paint, paintshop pro, and the gimp. Ill begin with paint.

Paint
Paint is the basic editing program that comes with any version of Windows XP. To find paint, open the start menu, programs, accesories, and paint. In paint, you will find an airbrush, brushes, bucket fills, and more. There are no renders or gradients in paint, you will need gimp or photoshop for that.
Tell me If I missed anything important about paint, and if you have any more questions, please post them in this thread.[

[COLOR="DarkGreen"]PaintShop Pro
Paintshop pro is a very expensive editing program, that ranges between the prices $50 and $300. Psp comes with a wider range of colors to choose from, more text, and many, many image effects. My personal favorite is the glow edges effect, which makes all of the lines and colors brightly glow a color. Psp should come with an animation shop, whcih also comes with many animation effects. And yes, it is possible to make spinny pictures with it, in the animation wizard.

The Gimp
The gimp is a free editing prgram that you can download from www.download.com . It comes with some cool backrounds, script-fu, and awsome gradients. If your'e interested in making great signatures and avatars, then the gimp is the right program for you. Trust me, its unbelievable.

I've had this one question for a while.

In the tutorials on GimpTalk, all the tutorials require this one button, 'Difference'. I have no idea what they're talking about, and I looked where it's suppossed to be, but it's not there. Do you know where it is. I use Gimp 2.2.

If you stink that badly at GIMP, the you should just not try. Just because you got the right software for sigs and avvies, does not mean you will automaticaly have an awesome sig or avvie like Jimmy's or Black Hawks(Shawn Michaels, or Soul). You have to experiment with things, and get some techniques under your belt. Try gimptalk.com (http://gimptalk.com) though, that should help you get better.

I have another question. My previous question was answered by someone else.

My question is, how do you shrink something? I don't mean resize, but shrink or make it grow. Can someone help me?

Select what you want to shrink/grow and hit Layer>Scale Layer

You can also use the Shrink Layer or Selection Tool. Press SHIFT+T to get to this tool.
