(10-17-7) User Name Explained

For todays blog I'm going to field a question from my "Thoughts on Mod Blogs" thread. Feel free to post there and suggest your questions about me. Don't feel bad if I pass up your question, I'm just going with what I feel like answering for the day.

Todays question comes from Spem:

"How did you ever come up with your name?"

Well my name (Nicholas) was given to me at birth so I didn't have much say so. I was actually named after my father. I kinda dodged a bullet because I still have no idea why my dad was named Nicholas when the rest of his brothers are named Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. He is in the middle age wise as well so it makes even less sense.

As for my user name I got to choose that one. Prior to discovering CP a friend of mine introduced me to a computer game called COH (City of Heroes). In this game you got to create your own super hero and fight crime. Now they even have COV where you can be a bad guy. Well you get to pick what kind of power sets you have as a super hero and my friend gave me the inside scoop that the most powerful solo character would be a Spines/Regeneration Scrapper. With this combination of powers I could not only deal massive damage but also heal myself making it so I could dominate missions all by myself or be a powerhouse within the any group I joined. But the trouble with such great power is a suitable name. I wanted something that matched the abilities so I used the word Vital as in (Vital Signs) and Viper because the spines delt poison damage over time. So thats how you have a user name with Viper in it and not like reptiles.

Later when I found CP I tried my previous user name (frozenbluedragon) but it was too long so I went with Vital Viper. This super hero origin is what led me to fall in love with the red cape which quickly became my signature item.

I quit COH when they cut the enhancement allocation in half because I had half as much power and healing as I did before. It was like loosing a bunch of levels from my character.

I joined not that long ago; but when I heard about your and RFS's fight over reptiles and penguins, I didn't get it. Your name had "viper" in it. How could you possibly be in disagreement?
Now I know how. :P

As for why your dad was named Nicholas, your grandparents decided that the rhythmic sound of the Gospels had been covered. Naming your dad Acts isn't exactly a great option, which I am sure you and your dad are greatful they didn't turn to. And naming him anything else would sound sort of funny anyway because the consecutive names of your uncles would come to a weird and jolting halt even if they did name your dad Peter or James. That's my theory, anyway.

Oh, and I got my username by combining my birth month and the name of my favorite Disney character, which is also the name of my cat.

My dad is one of the middle children, so somehow they had started the biblical thing, stopped it, and then finished it. I'll have to ask my father, although I haven't talked to him in close to a year.

RFS had the opposite title of "Reptile Lover" that was before we told everyone that RFS and I are actually friends in real life. We were (and still are) the most heated rivals on the forum.

As for my personal life maybe one day I'll spill my guts and explain my relationship with my father.

I was always a big fan of Blastoies, the one that could pawn the fire breathing dragon that everyone else liked.

In my opinion, Blastoise's spped stat was not at my required standard.:rolleyes: Regarding your anti-reptile stand, I heartily support you. Amphibians for the win!

I actually remember COH. I was formerly addicted to it and attained a substantial level in the process. I do not recall them cutting the enhancement allocation though, so that must have occured after my departure.

It was more addicting than CP was, but also more expensive.

I was rather popular user though, the healers hated me because I would take on huge groups by my self and die before the group caught up. At one point a group designated a healer just to target me :P

The made the enhancement modification just before COV was released.

Expensive indeed; my parents thought thta I was completely wasting my money playing on it. In the event that I continued to play it even today, then our home would surely be reposessed:rolleyes:

But Blastoise should actually be so slow that Pikachu would be able to get, at least, two hits in before Blastoise could get in one because Pikachu could move fast enough to do that.

But Blastoise should actually be so slow that Pikachu would be able to get, at least, two hits in before Blastoise could get in one because Pikachu could move fast enough to do that.

I haven't been as active as I use to be but I will always be a part of the CP community.

Real life is more important than an online penguin game, never forget that. Don't feel bad I've gotten use to seeing buddies come and go, but it is always nice when they come back :P

Apparently when my mom asked if he had any ideas for a name he just looked up from his camera magazine and said the first name he saw!! I'm lucky it wasn't Cannon or something!:rolleyes:

I don't like to lecture but my me and my mom have had a hard time getting on over the years (due to the fact i don't forgive her for leaving us when we were little!) but now she is dying and I've made my peace with her.:(

I did a search on Google with my name just to see what popped up. It turns out that my name is more common that I thought. Sheesh. Pages upon pages with other people with my name. Weird. I thought my name was more unique, at least, here in the US. Go figure.

Er.... Well, since his parents were going down the list of New Testament books rather than Old Testament books, that name wouldn't exactly be likely unless they had 27 children and had to move back to the Old Testament :D; but I see what you are saying. It would be hilarious if they named their kid Hebrews or 2 Corinthians. :P Ha ha ha!

My Name "Acacoroth" is from when i used to watch star wars and they had a competition for the new Sith name for a book that would be used in the new book and i tried to enter Darth Acacoroth, but of course you had to be 18 to enter:rolleyes:. and i'm only 11 so then i found out about club penguin and i've been using that name everywhere ever since!
