View Full Version : (10-16-7) RFS & Vital Viper at the Arcade (and my day at school)

Today started as a normal day as I continued to be on the computer right into the wee hours of the morn. It is at this time that I finalized my plans with some guy we know as RFS and went off to bed.

After a marginal amount of sleep I headed to school. US history class was my destination. I tend to dominate all open discussion in the class by bringing up major points and using grand vocabulary. But I always end up inspiring my classmates by taking the in class discussion and comparing it to the world today. I talk so much in that class that the teacher has now adopted a policy where I only get 60 second to make my points. So if you think I sound complicated in text, imagine having me cram all I have to say in under 60 seconds.

After that class I go right to macroeconomics with RFS where we goof off in the back of the class. Today one of the students in front of us requested we talk less because we effected his concentration. So naturally I was like "You got the highest grade on the last test right?" to which he proudly responded "yes." So I proceeded to enlighten him that if he has out performed the class with us being a distraction before than if I was him I would want us to continue to distract him because evidently it is beneficial. He had no reply and I don't expect to hear from him again.

After that class was over I had some errands to run and some flirting to do with the chick selling candy at the Geology Club table, while RFS finished up his schedule.

Once RFS was mentally drained it was time to wear him out physically. After a somewhat pleasant stop at BK we headed to the sunset... I mean rise, mall. I continue to insist that Mcdonalds is better than BK but it was his turn to choose where we ate so I was drug along. Apparently lip singing "Unbreak My Heart" when it is on the radio in BK is as RFS says, "Unmanly."

Like RFS stated we went right to the B-Ball cage where I had almost gotten the High score the last time we went to this arcade. I considered myself a decent shot so a challenge from someone as unathletic as RFS didn't phase me. I beat my previous score and felt happy with the amount of baskets I scored. He ended up beating me by one shot. This was the beginning to the world of hurt that RFS would put on my ego.

After a poor performance in ski ball I told RFS not even to waste his coins cause I know he would beat my score. So we headed over to my specialty, air hockey. Last time we were at the arcade I destroyed him but he contested that from his side of the rink you couldn't get any good shots off. So this time I decided to prove him wrong by dominating him on the other side as well. After 2 losses on that side we switched and I came away with the W. But I was still unsatisfied, I had to win on the side with the disadvantage. We took a break in the hockey action and tried Mock Mock Revolution where I made a lame attempt to play (even on easy) and ended up failing on the first song thus not getting to play the other 2 I had paid for :( RFS proceeded to get all A rank making it look easy.) Seeking revenge I went back to air hockey. After suffering a loss or three including blowing a 6 to 2 lead needing only one point to win with the disadvantage, I let him wear himself out some more dancing and then finally got my win from the side with the disadvantage.

Some where during all that I plaid some Galatia game, and tried the hoops again with no luck. But in my defense the balls kept falling out the side of the cage because the net was tore, RFS didn't have any of his fall out.

After that I wanted some candy so we drove to the near by target to check out the selection. While walking around the store looking at various things we found some figurines in the craft section. The just so happened to have a dragon and a penguin so I stood them together and snapped a pic. (pardon my inexpensive camera)

After we ran out of time I ended up buying some Rolos and we both headed home.

I'm currently finishing up a take home test for accounting that is totally wearing out my brain and I still have laundry to fold before going to bed. Feel free to comment on my day but also check out my blog entitled something like "Thoughts on Mod Blog" because I'm still accepting questions that will be bloged on later. Also if you read this entire post put a :O emote in your reply post.

That dragon figurine was "cool". But it was not "$14 cool". Gawd, Target is selling the Dragonology toys again (at one point they canned them all on Clearance). I REAAAAAALY want a Frost Dragon plushie! :O :rfs:

Also, I dunno what I can say about me being good at the Mock Mock Revolution. I grew up surrounded by Japanophiles and anime nerds, so my years of casual play were beneficial to me. :P It's either that, or it's something that "people like me" have hard coded into our DNA.

EDIT: Spending all that time playing on a + shaped pad and then switching to an X is not easy. Especially when the center is a button too.

Yea, The penguin one was cool, but not $4 cool :P

My coordination is off (to say the least) so I easily loose track of where my feet are in association to where the buttons are. This is alot easier to do in DDR because I can use the center as a reference point and only get discombobulated when I have to do those double presses. With the middle as a button I lost my point of reference and nearly injured myself on that railing that is behind you!

"People like me" are the kind of people who make fun of "people like you" for being good at "things like that." ;)

Oh well, life goes on.

The trick is to not even retreat to the center while you are playing, just keep your feet where they are and move them accordingly when you need to. But yeah, the center button (5th button) is confusing, especially when it's part of a double.

I also noticed that the game we played did not have ANY "holds" where you hold an arrow down for the length of the green stripe.

:O How exactly are you guys able to get up in the morning and focus for class when you are blogging at 1 AM?

Lip singing "Unbreak My Heart" may not be completely manly; but it can be funny.

Heh, I sometimes debate in class talking about politics and the world today. But my teacher always just ignores me and tells me that its my opinion and I should keep it to myself or something horrible might happen to me.

I may get a low score in the game but at least I dance with some class. Does anyone really dance like that? Nope.

Yea I noticed that to but I thought it was just because I was on easy. Maybe the holds are patented?

Yup, thats my one day of fun for the week.

Yup, maybe you can fly to Texas and join in next time.

I have morals...

We are dedicated individuals, I was up even later this morning finishing up a take home accounting test that I'm about to go turn in.

Yea I thought it was funny, RFS started to get up from the booth

I've always been THAT student in my class. Over time I've become more sensitive to the people around me and have learned not to blast my opinions on others. Rather what I like to do is work it debate style by making a point and seeing how the class responds. I'm rather good at playing the devils advocate if I have to in order to get an intresting discussion.

Keep the comments coming, and thanks to those of you who read the entire thing!

Sleep is overrated. On the days that I have school I don't get much sleep, but on any other day I get anywhere from 10 to 14 hours of sleep.

Awesome day you had. So, who won the most?

PS: I think RFS' 19 and Vital a bit older...

My age is on my profile page here and I also posted it on my "Thoughts on Mod blog" thread that I would suggest you read if you want to learn more about me.

He won Basketball (by one shot), and Mock Mock Revolution. But I won from the disadvantage side in air hocky.

So this is where you hang out!
I thought if you were a mod that you have to live near or in Canada.
You seem to live in Texas.(If I have got that right!)
Glad I'm not the only slightly older penguin around! Oh so you have taken US history. I wouldn't imagine that takes long! I'm British and there's a lot more to learn about our history as you can imagine! (I do live in the USA though!)
Ok well,
Keep hissing!

I like you already :P

Welcome to the forums, it is always nice to have another member who uses proper vocabulary and grammar. I actually not a mod for the game, just for the forums (but I'm honored that you would think I'm a good enough penguin to be one). I currently live in Texas but recently made a looooong drive from NC. Well in college they split US history into two parts, I'm currently in the class for the second part. So yea US history takes plenty of time to learn as well. Although I have taken a Western Civ. class so I know quite a bit about British history as well.

Now I'm headed to the dreaded accounting class. Torture is an understatement when it comes to the description of that class. :O

Wow!
So you do speak to us mere mortals then! hehe!
Been trying to get some kind of response for bloomin ages!!!
As for the grammer and punctuation, I'm afraid that it varies depending on my mood and also British grammer can be slightly different than the US way. I will be mindful now though, that you are keeping an eye on it! (Aghhh!)
Hopefully one day we might actually be on at the same time and I won't have to waffle on about wrestling and the like and you may one day actually add me!! (I won't hold my breath though!!)
I have been thinking that you may be a little bit too full of yourself but I guess with all the attention you get (lets face it,I'm not helping!) that it's to be expected.
Thankyou from the bottom of my little british heart for responding. (You wait til I tell Wildrose! Ha!)

I respond much quicker via the forums :P Although on occasion I do respond through YouTube or Pengspace. My spelling is horrible but thanks to the invention of spell check no one is the wiser, lol. I usually log in CP later in the day or between classes in the library. As of right now I frequent Frozen but am liable to go back to Mammoth when I reinstate my membership. If you think I have an ego now you should have seen me on 'the old forum' that you will often hear us refer to.

Yea Wildrose is a good buddy of mine as well. I was on as one of my spare penguins asking for help with something and she kindly assisted, so when she finished helping me get the items for the party and the pin I told her to stay put and surprised her with my main account. The buddies you make before they know your famous are always the best.

I wish I was there, sounds like you two of you had lots of fun, if only there was the opportunity that all of us forumers could have one big party or something in real life, that would be so much fun. Lol
