I've spent the last few days working on forum code off and on, some of you guys might have noticed since you've been posting in the POST HERE IF THE FORUM IS BROKEN thread (http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/showthread.php?t=28469). Coding for vBulletin is one thing, coding it and making it look the same in all browsers is another thing. Thankfully I use Internet Explorer (exploder) to post with "RFS-testaccount". That's when I noticed a small but annoying piece of CODE that only displayed in IE:

-->

That's it. Well, that and if you count the Post Icon box that I thought I REMOVED from replies but left in the new thread screeen.

Everyone switch to FireFox... IE sucks lol.

Anyways, I hope you all are diggin' the new additions to the forums and stuff. Everything's cool in RFS Land, just won an eBay auction for a big alligator plushie. I'll probably post pictures when I get it in the mail.

You mean you actually like IE 7.0 better than FireFox??? How could you? FireFox is so much more reliable and faster. Ask almost anybpdy on the forums lol. I don't think RFS is going to like it if you like IE7 better than FireFox lol. :)

1- I never said that IE was better
2- I have IE 6, not 7
3- I don't care what RFS thinks about my browser:P

Nah the problem with IE is that some of the code just does not display properly at ALL, and you have to use other forms of code (or other languages) that both Firefox AND IE can understand, since apparently IE doesn't understand a lot of vBulletin.

All is well though, in fact all is beyond well!

You're lucky. I lost my Windows 98 when it got 63 virus from IE(5 or 6?)

63 is nothing, I had over 400, I think, and I had this virus software call Avast, and it has this funny thing where when a virus is found it makes a sound like an world war two airade sound, and then shouts "WARNING A VIRUS HAS BEEN DETECTED" The first time it went off I got such a fright because my speakers we're on full. Anyway so with over 400 viruses the thing went over and over.

Example:

Normal " 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'WARNING A VIRUS HAS BEEN DETECTED' "

With Viruses:
"'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' WARN...' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'WARNING A VIRUS...' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound''Air Rad' 'Air Rad Sound' 'Air Rad Sound'"

The noise it made, though I find now you don't need any virus software, have two hard drives when the computer is messed up, reinstall windows!

Easy.

Ish.

Yeah, but you had that WWII virus software. I had Norton.

Argh it hasn't come in yet!! :(

I'm waiting for the seller to send me an invoice, apparently they wanted me to contact them BEFORE paying, which is not what I do. I just pay and get on with it.

I remember IE6. I used to use it all the time! and it was great! But now it's all new and untested and it works hopelessly. Kind of like Windows Vista compared to Windows XP. Windows XP is way better, but I have Vista so I can't really downgrade. I know there is a way, but I'm too lazy to try it.

Well, I noticed that IE6 can't view transparent images or else the background comes out black or lime green. This totally messes up my site and mostly any body's site to a person that has IE6. IE7 is way to slow and they ask you before playing a flash file which is annoying, but I do like/use Firefox and Safari and they are both by far my favourite. But I noticed while using Safari on these forums the pages don't display and if you refresh they will re-appear.

Also, Mozilla has loads of add-ons, the best one for me is the spell checker, because I am Czech, English is not my first language so when I get little words wrong this baby tells me! I blame the English language, with there by, buy, bye, Steal, Steel, dear, deer etc. Lol:)

No so yeah Mozilla pwns.

RFS one thing, why has the forum shrunk into a thin...ish line in the middle and the back ground is a horrible gray colour?

It is for me, on all web browsers.

Oh by the way, at the moment I am trying to make a statement, if you haven't notice my sig and avvy.:)

That's something you should have posted in the "report bugs with the new forum tweaks" thread. I think I fixed that though.

The forum is fluid, it will resize to fit your browser.

Yeah unless you try to resize your window to something smaller than the length of the top banner.

But you do know with Mozilla you can pick from tons of different themes or 'templates'
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:2

Though I think it would be very neat if there was an option to make your own theme. :D

There's going to be that big gap for a while, because technically there is only ONE post icon available for regular users to use until I am done uploading the new ones.

We should be done uploading and creating them within the half hour.

And you're using Internet Explorer right? Freakin' arrow.

Freakin awesome;) Too bad I will only check them tomorrow:(

Oh, and Internet Exploder is really getting on your nerves uh?

RFS, people around the forums already suggested a rank that the user can modify on theyre will.
What if we could have one user posting icon?(i know never gonna happen)

It makes it easier for us Mods to find those threads that aren't allowed and deal with them.

The Pendragon guide had that tag for a bit but I replaced it because I also don't like the use of the hacker thread tag. It does look cool though :P
