You come into The Gallery, you may see some art and be like "WOW, I wanna make stuff like that!" Well, you might not know where to start. Here is the place! Here is a list of programs (Submitted by fellow forumers and myself) that are art related, and that you can use to design some sweet graphics with! Enjoy.

The GIMP is a free, easy to use program. It can be used to make some very neat professional looking graphics. I used to use this until I got Photoshop. I highly recommend this for beginners!

First, you need to download GTK Runtime Environment
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gtk+-2.8.18-setup-1.zip?download
(Select a download mirror there. For WINDOWS USERS ONLY)

Then, download the GIMP automated installer.
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gimp-2.2.13-i586-setup-1.zip?download
(Select a download mirror. Must have GTK Runtime Environment. For WINDOWS SUERS ONLY)

Well I have this program that has a portable GIMP and other software... it goes on your flash drive... So you don't have to download the +GTK Runtime because it may be too confusing for people... It also has Open Office which is pretty good if you don't have Microsoft office... It's free...

If I have 15 posts... I'll post the link... I'll edit it in in a few minutes once I get 15...

Awesome guide Dom.

Also, could you add Seashore?
I haven't used it for sigs or avvies here, but it's a bit good.
And it's free.

Think of it as "GIMP lite".

I was leaving there, and here before, and I swore in my leaving thread, and I got banned. I came back here a few months later.

I deleted GIMP so long ago that I forgot how to install it again. So I had to take a quick glance at these links so I can download it again.

I was just going to ask something, when I download it again will it have all the things I downloaded before? If so, is there any way I can refresh it, or delete everything I don't want?

Try it and see if it has all of the things you had before. If it does, go into your program files and delete the GIMP folder, and re-install it, and it should be refreshed. Not sure if it'll work, since i've never had to do it.

Ok thanks, I'll try that. I didn't have time to download it yesterday because I was real busy. Hopefully I can get that done today.

I have adobe photoshop but would like flash( Saving Up). I think adobe went a little Excentric with their prices for flash. The adverage flah is over 500$. I mean they should at least have a free version but not as good as the payed version( Like What Microsoft Does with Visual Basic).

GIMP is very confusing at first. You can always look for help on google, or just mess around with it and eventually get better at it.

You can add the super easy to use photofiltre to this list. There are two versions. One is version 6, which is available for free. The other needs payment and is version 10.

But the free version is almost as good as the paid one. Simply awesome.;)

search in google "photofiltre" and you will get the link. :)
