I remember last year after Ramadan all the muslims in my school got a party in a room with loads of food and we didn't know why....they gave us lollypops to go away:D

If what Balthy says is correct then I have heard of Ramadan (Or however you spell it.) I think I almost did it a few years back but something happened and I ended up not doing it. My dad has fasted before when he thought he had a tumor on his back, it was huge, I still don't know what it was, it just disappeared like a couple weeks after he started fasting. Fasting and praying. He ended up all right.

Well, for one, I'm not a Muslim. Then there's the fact that I absolutely LOVE food and would barely get through the day. Also, I'm only 13, so I wouldn't be old enough to fast anyways.

The ''Imam'' reads parts of the Qur'aan. It takes arround an hour.
Imam = Muslim ''priest''

Correct, but you cannot eat loads to compensate for your lack of food during the day. I mean you cannot have a feast for dinner and breakfast, you have to eat a normal, standard sized meal.

My friends 13 and he's fasting. He fasted when he was 12 too. Until he ate some pasta like 3 weeks in

I'm not a muslim so I don't fast. I remember last time when I was in the afternoon session in school, muslims were allowed to go home slightly earlier than the rest - to break the fast.

:O I've heard that fasting isn't healty.
I mean, you're starving all day long and then suddenly you start eating continuously and excessive with that hunger.
It's really exhausting for your stomach and you keep tiring it systematic during a month.
It's even more unhealty for children. (i mean -18)

My uncle's wife is muslim. She doesn't fast, she told me those.
She also doesn't wear turban, she said it's unnecessary and absurd cause
God didn't tell Muslims to wear them. She told me it's not wrriten in muslims book.

I don't think it's nessecary to fast if your a muslim either. It can be very unhealthy for some people.
But there are different kinds of fasting, some where you can only drink liquids, others where you can
only eat after sundown, even others where you can only eat fruit/vegetables. All different kinds of fasting. They're not all unhealty. Even some of them can keep your colon clean.
Hah, I know these Dividian people and the women always wear these hats and socks, sandals and these long skirts that reach to the ground. It's like this, "Oh, my gosh! I just saw her ankle! Oooh, she's going to hell." That's seriously how they do it. It's just what their "prophet" said they should do. It's ridiculous.

Well I'm Catholic, so on holy days of obligation people over 14 must fast and abstain of meat. In Lent (if you have heard of it) you have to give up something you really love.

I do not fast myself (since I am an atheist and cannot survive without food) but I do respect those who undertake fasting in the festival of Ramadan. Muslims fast to empathize with those stricken by poverty and malnutrition (if I am not mistaken). In my opinion, this is a wonderful thing, as it shows that there are some who truly care about others in this world.

Exactly, they also say that people fast for medical reasons.

My Muslim friends told me that modern Ramadan only requires people to fast during the day. They can eat before sunrise and after sunset. When I told them that we have done that every day of our solid food eating lives, they were amazed and told us that our God must be really pleased with us. My maternal grandmother wasn't such a great cook. So my mother would chuck out her packed lunch everyday. Well, she got into that habit and passed it on to us.
So, according to modern Muslim definitions of fasting, we do that every single day. According to Christian terms of fasting, no, we don't fast because Christians see fasting as going without food, period.

Are you in public school? I wish our public schools would teach Christianity, too. Then maybe I wouldn't get asked some of the dumbest questions on the face of the planet, such as "How can Jesus be God when He died?"
Answer: He is the "spirit/soul" of God that entered a conceived child and was born a human. The physical human body could die, especially since Jesus Himself had the power to make it die; but the God-soul could raise it back up again.

Well, I'm muslim, but I do not fast simply because it's hard to do. I did it for one day and I couldn't take the suffering. It's a good lesson to learn, but you'll starve!
