That, they have the male people in the games, but the male people in the games are never in the show! If they're not gonna use them, then just use the Ash Sprite thats gonna be used that season!!!

the one thing that bugs me about pokemon is the new voice for ash in the shows

I play Gold version, when I find Yellow version in the shops I abandon Gold and the many hours and days spent throught Kanto and Johto. When Ruby and Sapphire come out I abandon Yellow and all the time I spent playing it and I play Sapphire instead. When FireRed and LeafGreen come out I abandon Sapphire and all the work spent leveling up my Pokemon and I play FireRed instead. And it moves on to Pokemon Coliseum, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and next time I will go on to Ranger or Diamond / Pearl. I also delete some of my old games and play them again for a few days.

It's probably because, first and foremost, it's Japanese. If you have ever been to Asia, you know that there aren't any black people there. There's some Philippinoes in southern Asia; but, especially, in the north...uh uh. Nope. You might see one in a blue moon...maybe. I couldn't remember seeing even one when I lived in Hong Kong for 4 and a half years. Not one.

So my guess is that the Pokemon world sort of fancifully mimics what they know.
