Well, my last reveiw of Rod Rego's Waddles was very well recieved, so I am back with my pen out (I mean, fingers) ready to keep writing! Today I bring you a game... with a point. Unlike Waddles, this game is composed of more than CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK (< a cookie to anyone who can tell me where that's from). Pokemon Lost Shadows is not based upon Club Penguin, but on the massive world of Pokemon, only this time you aren't the trainer, but instead, the Pokemon. Let's get started!
Pokemon Lost Shadows

Most of you won't recognize the name Joachim, because he really hasn't been around long. He's very little known, but that doesn't mean he's not "cool" or "popular" or "ego-less" (VV reference :)). Him, along with 3 others, have made an MMORPG game based off of the Pokemon franchise called Pokemon Lost Shadows. Here's how it works. You register by simply entering a username and password and off you go. You have three files, which means a maximum of three Pokemon at once. You can choose from about 20 different Pokemon at the start to play as. Once you choose one and make a file, you are transported to the world of PLS. Here's how it adds up in my 5 key areas:
Gameplay, 4.5/5: The controls are very easy: the arrows keys move your Pokeyman around, while hitting Control (abbr. Ctrl, bottom left of your keyboard) allows you to attack the wild Pokemon that roam the world freely (real-time, not turn-based) and enter lets you pick up various objects like Poke Coins that enemies drop once you kill them. It becomes addictive very fast. I'm going to admit something right here: I am not at all a Pokemon fan. I've always seen them as kinda dorky and childish. But putting a new twist on the series like LS does melts those feelings away. For the first time in my life, I am seeing Pokemon for something other than a geek's pastime. The only other game that has given me this feeling even remotely was when I bought Super Smash Brothers Melee. Your Pokemon gains experience from combat and when it has enough, it levels up, giving you a skill point to add one point to either the areas of Strength, Defence, Speed or Magic.
Graphics, 4/5: They look almost exactly like the Pokemon Games' graphics, which only adds to the quality of it. The attacking animations are simple, which works fine and they're all the same speed as far as I know.
Sound, 4/5: Standard battle noises. A shreik when one character attacks, a scratch when the other one does. The fact that this games has sound at all gives it a decent score.
Replay Value, 5/5: You will spend hours leveling up your character if you become dedicated enough, and far more if you decide to do te same with the other two files. It's basically a whole 'nother Pokemon game.
Multiplayer, 4.5/5: Since the game is an MMORPG, the multiplayer is as you would expect from a game like runescape. There's a standard PvP system and local + global chat. There are plenty of mods and admins moderating the game, so there isn't any naughty stuff. Add the fact that most people who play the game are MC Forumers like yourself and I, it's truly a unique experience.
Overall, 4.4/5: This game is worth the download by far. I have fallen in love with it and so have many other forumers. Don't like Pokemon? Despise it even? You will still love this game, I promise it.
