Hello everyone. You all know and love me as Sixpenguin, that cheese-head who pops into IAAF chat every now and then and loves surfing the Programming Penguins forum (well, maybe you didn't know THAT much ;)). I have seen lots of fangames lately that could potentially be among the best ones to come out of these forums. So, I have decided to begin reveiwing them, for your reading pleasure. If this one gets good feedback, I will continue to reveiw games that come out as they come out. If my feedback isn't so good, I'll stop right here. So, without further ado:

For those of you who know Rod Rego, you will know a few things about him. He's a really nice guy, with a lot of ambition and promise. He has made/helped make numerous fan games, including Pixel Penguins, Gary's Secret Computer, Puffle Island and Pac-Puffles. His latest game is an RPG-Style game called Waddles. It was announced a few months back, and not long after that Beta 1.0 was released. Everyone who downloaded it was amazed at the great graphics and the fact that there were very few glitches. Shortly after, Beta 1.5 was released, which was almost glitch-free. The community waited for the final version, which promised a save feature, minigames, and zero glitches.
The wait is finally over, and Rod has outdone himself once again.
Gameplay: 4/5: The gameplay is very simple. The arrow keys move the penguin around, and you can go to many areas of the Waddles world by simply selecting them on the map. There's some restaurants, a dance club, and even a clothing shop where you can exchange outfits at. The minigames that were promised aren't quite what was expected, but they are there. At the Dock or the PengPark, you can "catch" seagulls for 20 coins each, and at Camp Waddles, you can chop trees for 50 coins each. There are plenty of places to go and lots to see, and the gameplay is overall satisfying.
Graphics: 4.5/5: Compared to most other fangames being made right now, Waddles has mind-blowing graphics. Rod has said that he's been using Game Maker 7 for about 4 years, and it shows. The animations are very nice and clean and the areas look realistic.
Sound: 4/5: While the only real sound is the background and title screen music, it's very clear and the melodies are very nice.
Replay Value: 3,5/5: It's not the easiest to play this game for hours at a time, but if you have a little time to kill, it's a nice pick-up-and-play.
Overall: 5/5: This game is just really nice. It is the belief of this reveiwer that this game is Rod's best yet. He has said that there MAY be a flash version somewhere down the road, but if there isn't, I hope more games like this are made by our one and only Rod Rego. Great job Rod, keep up the good work!
