Nature question..

Well I've been wondering for some time now What is the Pokemon's nature all about? This is one of the things i dont understand in the games. So why is it important and what does it do?

i think depending on what kind of nature they have, it determines what kind of berries they like. or something like that... its not that important.

It increases one stat by 1.1 every time it levels up, but only increases 1 stat by .9. Or does nothing.

It boosts a sat and lowers one

Say you wanted a salemace with great attack and attack only

you would try to breed to get a nature that boosts attack and lowers somethin that doesnt matter(like SP. ATK. for your salemace,sicne it wont have any special moves)
