my favorite book is most definetly the book my english teacher is reading to us when he has nothing better to do. Harris and me! It's like the #1 lol book. I'll describe a page.
"harris and me were walking to the barn when harris said 'uh oh, I don't see louey' In confusion I asked 'who is lo.... 'look out' and just suddenly some wierd evil god appeared in the sky shooting feather balls at us like a machine gun. We had to hide for cover to make sure we wont get buried in the feather balls. Then we watched as the giant god fell to the ground and went into the chicken coop. 'Was that a chicken?' I asked in confusion to harris. 'Worse than a chicken. louey the evil rooster.'
and all I am gonna say is there is gonna be alot of LOL'Z!!!

I would have to say "And then there were none" by Agatha Christie. I basically only read mysteries, and i collect agatha christie books. its my favorite book because i was positive that a certain person committed the crime(s) but on the last few pages, it turned out that a totally different person who did it. one of my friends tried it out but gave up because she said it was scary, but its really not.

My fave book(s) are the City of Ember books. They are so futuristic and creepy. The third one (the prophet of yonwood) kind of stereotypes christians though. The characters say stuff like, "Oh, if we just trust in god, then everything will be OK," and, "We must all listen to what god has to say, for he will lead us to safety." And then it turns out they are all wrong, and nothing bad is going happen to them at all. :D

I...am not too big of a fan. Usually I love unusual books like that, and my PACE (advanced classes I take once a week) teacher recommended it, but it was a little too harsh for me. I do think that how the author managed to make it fit so that it is an example of modern society was clever, though.

Like half of you said "Harry Potter"I have to definitely disagree with you, Harry Potter was nothing special, it was okay, but I wouldn't call it the "best book out there" or anything.
The best book out there, is most likely "The Golden Compass", "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe",
"Eragon", "Heir Apparent" or "Gregor the Overlander." But it's all in your own opinion, I guess.
Nuff' said.
EDIT: Scratch that, The Hobbit pwns.

That's because you were in school! The only time a book is fun is when your cuddled up in a La-ZBoy with a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket. You do not see the magic in reading, my bunnylicious friend.
You have obviously have never "truly" read the book, it is full with tales and things you have never seen with your own eyes.

My favourite book is Looking for Alibrandi. It's an Aussie book by Melina Marchetta and they also made it into a movie. I loved this story because I can really relate to it.
Also the Just series by Andy Griffiths. Another aussie author, I really liked the books because they were so gross and silly - I know they are aimed at a younger audience but I still laughed! :D
I love books that tell a good story, but if you have never read unless it was for school - you can't go past the old classics.;)

my fav author right now is fantasy writer j fitzgerald mccurdy. she's written the serpents egg trilogy. the three books are the serpent's egg, the burning crown and the twisted blade. they follow a bunch of kids who fight evil with the help of a druid through a portal found under parliament hill.
Her second trilogy is the mole wars, book 1 is the fire demons, book 2 is the black pyramid and book 3 is to be released in the fall. it takes place in the US and follows the mystery of kids going missing. she's canadian but you can find her books through the chaptersindigo website.

I got so many favorite books it changes!
But currently I got two favorite book series:
- The Percy Jackson Series: Personally I love this series, it ties in Greek mythology and modern society in a great bunch! Its so creative! I can reread these books over and over again but still never get tired of it! I recommended it very much!
-The Twilight series: I just recently found this series and loved it! I read all 3 books in about 3 days! Amazing books! Gave me a real different view on vampires. Recommend it lots!
PS: I am an Edward fan ;)
