Actually, the release date is July 21, 2007, and JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (652) on 11 January 2007. The release date was confirmed February 1st, 2007.

Even though I want Voldemort to die, I think Harry will sacrifice himself, knowing that if he does, Voldemort will die later for sure.

No, she said this was her last book, but she might write like a complete info. sort of thing on all of the characters.
Heaven knows she doesn't even have to finish, she's rich enough.
But she could make more books.
Just because it's the end of the series, doesn't mean it's the end of the real story.

No because in number 5 it says in the prophecy about harry and voldemort '... niether shall live while the other survives...' so it means one will have to kill the other

The name of the seventh book and the name of the town where Lili and James Potter were killed are different. The name of the book includes the word, "HALLOWS." Lili and James were killed in Godric Hollow. Maybe the connection is that the murders occurred, I believe, on Halloween. But a Hallows is a holy place, or a place set aside as holy. A "Hollow" is generally a ravine of some sort.

As for a release date, there is none official yet. Amazon must be filling in as a marker or something. At least Mugglenet hasn't had a release date yet, and they don't miss anything.

Rowling's original plan was to have 07/07/07 as the release date, but she did not want to push the editing time just to have it released on a certain date. So basically she wanted to make sure that the editing was done right.

Motocena-if you were an avid visiter to mugglenet, then you would know that Rowling released the release date on February 1, 2007 on her website.

i am 99% sure it is harry and voldemort, because i think harry will realize that for voldemort to die, harry has to die too.:( i am sad both that harry will probably die, and, most of all, that the series will end. in not too long harry potter will be an old series and not many kids will read it. hopefully jk rowling will at least start another series!
