I was wondering, because last year it seemed like a ton of people
were using FD, to see pictures of upcoming parties and so on.
The last time I heard about it was in November when someone used
FD to see the results of the color poll.

So Did CP stop them?

FD is short for flash decompiler

That's good to hear, back then one person would FD and post pictures of parties
then everyone jumped on the craze and before your know it.

NOTE: I am not a hacker, I did not post thiis topic to talk about hacking, I was
just wondering If cp stopped them.

Nope, they probably can't.

I won't reveal methods or post resources, but people who know a programming language could easily write their own flash decompiler and if they get that far they could probably make a complete hack system.

As when you download files, CP can't tell whether your opening them with notepad, flash decompiler, in a browser or directly in a flash window. They can just ban those IPs where people have been hacking items.

I thought we weren't allowed to say anything about FD's anymore

I'm just asking, I'm really no computer hack so
I have the slightest chance at understanding this.

When you view Club Penguin, your computer downloads load.swf.

They have stopped hotlinking which means that some FD's won't work.

Also, they probably have reduced the time between on the file and release date. This prevents them from being so popular.

You can still try Flash Decompiling, but chances are it won't work.

No, they did not completely stop the use of Flash Decompiler. How do I know? I use it. Flash Decompiler is not a hacking program, it's simply a pogram that breaks down the different elements used in creating, in this situation, Club Penguin.

You can not 'flash decompile' the game as a whole, any more. You get a 'load error.' However, you can decompile the different elements (ex. Rooms, items, etc.) to see them.
(I use FD to mainly get images to use in sigs and graphics.)

You can take it a step further, and actually change the .swf into a .fla, which is against the terms of service of Club Penguin (converting it from a .swf to a .fla makes the 'element' editable.)

So, it's kind of yes and no.

So making a client for load.swf is illegal?
