Have you considered running away from home? I am seriously considering so. I have asked my parents if I could take self-defense classes, and they have almost agreed. I would need these classes because I would be passing alot of strangers and who knows what could happen. I will wait until I am 14, because that is the legal working age in the states which I will be going through. My plans are to go out east, while not passing through major cities, because of the danger. If I went out west, it would be difficult to travel through the Plains and the mountains.

Most people consider doing this at one time or another in their lives, but most stop thinking about it. They consider doing so when they are angry, or depressed. I am not either of those, but I feel it is what God is calling me to do. To start a new life. I would be taking my bicycle along a route which I have already mapped out. It consists of sidewalks, and minor roads. I would be travelling by day, and during the night, I would find a hotel. I would be able to afford only cheap ones because I would be taking quite a bit of cash with me; over $1000. I have been saving this up for some time now.

I want to assure you that this is not a spur-of-the-moment decision. It is very serious. I would more than likely leave around fall of '08, or possibly Spring. I would be 14 by then. Also, please note that my parents will not be taken by surprise, for I informed them that I will be doing this.


Although I am not putting my fate into the hands of forumers, most of which I don't know, I would still like your opinion.

I do not think that you should leave home, especially at the age of fourteen. Why would you want to do so anyway? You would be traveling all of the time, never any time to be with friends, you would miss your family, etc. I do not see you motives behind this plan. Please explain.

Is there any real reason for running away from a loving family who cares about you and going off to live your own life when you can't drive, pay in credit card, or get back home if you go too far? You probably get raped, die, or get kidnapped. Or possibly all three. You shouldn't believe that you will be ok, you won't.

Anyone who think that college is useless is really dumb. look at the most succesful people in the world, they went to college. if you want to be someone, you go to college. if you want a life, you go to college.
