To take a screenshot on a mac hold down these buttons in teh order I say them.

Apple button, shift, control, 3.
There you go!

Yeah, that's for a full screenshot. If you want to take part of the screen (crop) hold down apple, shift, 4. You'll see your cursor as a cross with a grey circle in it. Just drag it to make a square, let go and your picture is saved on the desktop.
