2 Pokemon questions

In D/P, When i look in the pokedex,They say Skorupi is around the Great Marsh,But he's never in there.Where is he/she?I can't find him,I want a Drapion.

2.Where is the scientist lab so I can get my Fossil so then I can get my Sheildon?

1.Skorupi will randomlly appear in one region of the Great Marsh every day.
2. In Oreburgh City.

1. Different Pokémon appear there on different days. Use the binoculars in the Observatory upstairs in the Safari building to see which Pokémon are in different areas. Look for the areas you see while you're in the Great Marsh to help you locate different Pokémon. Keep in mind that some Pokémon appear more frequently than others.

2. Once you have your fossil, head to Oreburgh City and walk into the museum. There will be a desk with two people standing behind it somewhere; the one on the right should look like a scientist. Give him the fossil (you need to transfer it into your Bag) and he will take it. Go outside the museum, then back in. Go to the scientist and talk to him. He should complain about you being gone too long, then will give you the Pokémon from the fossil— you'll need an empty space in your group, because it will not go to the PC.

Yeah,I got both pokemon and I know about the Binoculars but that piece of junk never works.But i Have Diamond and is it common to get a Cranidos because I didn't want that stupid pokemon,I wanted Sheildon because I thought having a skull fossil would be a sheildon but I guess I was wrong.
