Nice now that youve done that, try less to add those shapes and stuff.

Make the colors more proper example, the render is blue teh background is black and blue or white and blue.

I dont know how to do it on gimp but here are two ways.

Take the background earaser tool and erase everything that you dont want.

or

use the pen tool( path tool) make it go all the way around teh thing you want cut and right click it, and click make a selection. Then layer via copy and hide the layer before the layer your picture is on.

If you want the background taken off of your penguin with the blue background just take the region selecter or whatever it is in gimp, and click it on the blue background or the color of background you want taken off then when it makes a selection just press delete.

Before I knew this I used to past all of the images on paint cut them out on paint, its a little choppy though.

You have to be registered, click on the render pic to open a new page with only the render pic in it and only then save it. If you dont do that (and open it with Gimp or PS) the bkg will appear.

Filters is what I meant by "effects", or even C4Ds. The baseball one is by far your best, I like the splatter cut effect. More practice, more goods. :)

Just keep at it, you will get better and better. I see your a fast learner, thats what people say to me too.:D

try using filters, go to teh planetrenders forums, its on the front page, register and try out some tuts, you'll learn a lot about gimp.

Cool, try some other fonts, make them blend with the bkg and add borders. For a brush-only sig is preety good.

BTW, here's the tut, I'll provide the .xcf and .psd files later, right now i gotta sleep.

Icy, what do you think of the one I made with a tut, no brushes, just the redner in 5 times, and 3 c4ds, althought I picked the wrong c4ds, they don't look to good. I'd love to show you a sig I made with some of same techniques and tricks but it wasn't the same. But my brother is using the computer it's on.
