How do you sword cancel in halo 2?

in halo 2 how do you sword cancel? like when you jump REALLY high and then you swing your sword. I bought halo & halo 2 the first day they came out, and Ive never known how to do this.

i know this, but i quit halo 2 a while ago, im a 32 in ts!! anyways you look at the enemy when its red, the swing ur energy sword, and instantaniously after you swing, press the X button and you will sword cancle. :)

To sword cancel you press X while you press R(R1 for 360) at the same time. You can get to the top of a bunch of levels while sword canceling.

cool thanks! i knew you press X after you swing, but i want to know how to do it while not looking at an enemy. and you jump REALLY high. s7udjack im doing fine how about you?

EDIT: i just figured out how to sword cancel and jump really high, but only when you lock on someon. you lock on someone and you press r trigger and x. you then jump really high, or really long. lol i thought you men x. sorry for misunder standing you.
