This clubs purpose is to make avvys, sigs, and other graphics to enter into competitions, make for other people, and to show them off. We also form this team to learn from each other and use our strengths to get better.

Pros are people that really know what they're doing and can help the apprentices keep getting better and eventually they can be pros and that way everyone gets better. Being an apprentice is not a bad thing at all. We can always learn.

Joining:

To join you must enter three examples of your work and any person with a greater rank can enter you in. Your work must be original, your own style, and never never never copy or take someone else's work.

Keep trying to get in if you fail to the first time.

HAVE FUN

Making sigs and artwork can be a lot of fun if you put your mind and imagination to it.


Only Pros can compete in sig competitions.

You would've been an apprentice for short period of time. You just need to learn how to take your time and really finish up your sigs. Such as in your Mario sig, you could turn down the white a little more. If you learn to do that, you could be a pro. :)

I think pro would be fine. Just a few things:

-Don't make the border thick and uneven.
-There isn't much need for the light in the top right in your current sig.
-The third example looks quit plain.

Main thing: I think that adding the light behind the render, instead of in the background, would make your sigs look much better.

Just scribble with a paint brush. Then go to filter>>distort and then choose something. I suggest liquify or ocean ripple.

You don't have to leave, your current sig is an example of good Non-CP art, and you could definitely expand on that. I know how penguin-art savvy you are, but people like me 4 months ago sucked at GIMP.

I put the Ben thing in there because of RFS' old sig back at Miniclip. Penguins, as you can see, were pretty much bothering (annoying?) him, so you know how good of a drawer he is, purple dragon, penguins climbing all over him. Somewhere in the files.

EDIT: Penguinp, register at Planet Renders, click on the render, and it'll give you the TRANSPARENT version. You don't have to cut it out.

Also when you go up to the main picture on Planet Renders do you Click on it to make it pop up bigger but with a white background? That may be your problem...

well I'm in photoshop cs3 and ya a circle brush, to add an outer glow, make sure the line is in its own layer and in the bottom of the window that shows the layers click the 'f' or if your in cs3 the 'fx' and go to outer glow, play around with the setings. If your not on photoshop do a whit line and in a new layer under it do a bigger line in the color glow you want and add a gasion blur, play around with the settings.

yep that looks pretty good, now add a gradient map or colorize it to match the render. after, add some brushes on the sides and do some lighting efects and add text.

Those are nice 9/10 I think we could use the banner by the way that samus sig I made. I screwed up and accidently made the border blue and exited out of the original non cornered sig.

To get my infamous "paint blob" effect, use the "sparks" brush, then go to layer-transparency-alpha to selection. Go to paths, and click the botton that looks like a circle with two black lines though the top and bottom.
Then click the red square. Exit out of paths and make a new layer above the sparks.
Color with any color, and brush.
The go to select-none.
Delete the sparks layer.
Ta-da!

Not always. Sometimes gif messes up the picture. Especially with glares.
