Is there anyway to make it so you can always type in a different colour instead of black?
Rephrased: Different defaut colour?

No, you have to set it everytime you post, if that's what you meant by "default".

The only way that can happen (as far as I know) is by having an administrator or staff member with the privelages to edit the CSS forum default template or default forum color form do it.

Well that stinks. I hate having to highlight my words and press 'B' and 'Darkblue'.

If you hate having to do it, stop doing it.
There is no option to set your text default formatting.
