I heard on the news this person who shot a dog got 1 year in the can. I think this is too much, because one person got less than that for killing more than 30 goats, and a nother person got less than a year for torchering his dogs. So debate: Fair or not fair?

Thats unfair. A half a year at the most would be fair. A year is just too much. I think it was more of a ''make sure you dont do it or you can end up like him'' kind of thing. That may not be the real think. I dont know, Im just a billboard.

Well it depends where the dog came from. if it was a polive dog, then a 1 year sounds about right...think about all the training those dogs have to go through and now thats all gone. Or was it a family dog? If it was a family dog-meaning it had a safe home- and got killed the family probobly pressed charges as well as the police. I didn't hear about this but more information would help.;)

You have an active imagination. But that doesn't change a fact that it's a dog! If it was someone elses dog then I would have said that it wasn't right because it wasn't his property. But

Killing and Tourchering are 2 different things. The 30 killings of the goats may have been in a different state/country/providence and different states/counties/providences have different punishments for killing animals. I think the person got what s/he deserved, Dogs are just like us, they're animals we're animals. Hes lucky s/he wasn't charged for 1st degree murder and the consequence wasn't the same for killing a human. I think s/he got off the hook with that one.

To add onto that iamyellow, when we kill an animal, we should take it as prey.
And, as a fan of CoAD, I say that when you kill an animal you should use every single bit of it possibe. You can eat the meat, use it's fur for clothes, Whittle things from it's bones... The possibilities are endless!!

Yes but you eat chickens that were shot. And if less people like you would go and eat it the chicken it would still be alive. So basically it all comes down to, you murder everyday by eating meat. But yet you judge this man? My point is, what right do you have to judge people?
