Spider-Man 3 Spins Into The Record Books!

This is HOT OFF THE PRESS! Spider-Man 3 beat Pirates of the Caribbean 2 for the record of biggest opening weekend ever! Pirates 2 opened with $135 million; Spiderman 3 opened with $148 million! Now the big question is: Will Pirates 3 (opening May 25) overtake Spidey 3's new record? Discuss.

Personally, I think Pirates 3 can beat out Spidey 3.

I liked it, of course the wait was an hour but anyway if anydoes see it you really need to think about all the villians. There are so many plots in that movie, and I think pirets will beat spider man but not by that much.

Uh, I know I'm not gonna see Pirates3 in theatres but I'm going to spidey like in a couple days even though my friends told me the whole story. PrincessJ if your reading this I hate you. :mad:

Spiderman 3 wasn't the best. I really hope Pirates of the Carribean beats Spiderman3.

I thought Spiderman 3 was going to be better. Although I partially liked it, it needed some adjustments. There was too much drama, and too less fighting. I expected a little more... :(

I'm not cinvinced that POTC 3 will overtake Spidey. Spider-Man 3 was amazing IMO, but I also do love POTC a lot. Also, SM3 had way more advertisements for the movie, they were just about everywhere...

Nah, Normaly when T.V series movies come out they dont do well. Just an example: spongebob didnt do well when it came out with a movie.

I still think it will do well. I definately cant miss it though.

I was never a big fan of POTC series so I don't think I will see it either do I think it will do better than Spiderman 3

I doubt Pirates can beat Spidey as Pirates comes out in a week and has been barely advertised. However when the Dead Man's chest came out last year it had been highly advertised.

Spiderman wasn't based off the TV shows though. It was from the comics.

HUH?! POTC 3 might be the last one, and you're saying it won't be big? Besides, I read the baby junior novel, and if they end the movie the way they ended the book, they might as well be selling POTC 4 tickets, because they left the book on another cliffhanger. (see edit)

At the end of the book, all of the Pirate Lords of the Sea are gathered to destroy the East India Trading Company. Jack is being held captive on The Flying Dutchman, and he's hoping he can kill Davy Jones and take over the Dutchman and live eternally. Bootstrap Bill is dead and Will is saddened, but now he can take Elizabeth. Elizabeth is Captain of a ship and she is one of the Pirate Lords after Sao Feng dies and gives her the job. She is basically the leader of everyone, even Barbossa, and she knows this will be a historical moment. The last sentence she utters is, "No matter what happens (in this battle), we are THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!" End of book.

I read it, and I don't see how that is a cliffhanger. I don't like the ending, and I suspect the person who wrote it wasn't a very skilled writer, but I still don't think it's a cliffhanger.

Its kind of a cliffhanger... they're about to go into battle with their greatest enemy, and they're outnumbered. No big battle, its just you thinking of what will happen. Will they win? Will they lose?

I believe At World's End will beat Spidey. At least I hope so. Well at least I will be there to see At World's End!!! I will be supporting Johnny Depp!!!! yay!!!
