Hey guys, RFS here -- been a LONG week setting this place up. Could not have done it without the help of Ben and all the other guys over at Miniclip. I want to know what you like and don't like about the new forum, and why.
What do you think about the new subforums? What about smilies? Tell us how you feel and we will see if we can accommodate accordingly.
Please do not suggest bigger avs/sigs or allow under 13 year old users.

Any way of making the smileys look less ugly on the posting window, I know the colour scheme are hard to blend, but when posting they stick out like a sore thumb.

Sweet work. I think I can settle down pretty easily here.
I did notice now it shows how many people that are looking at the sub forums, thats pretty cool.
The subforums rock, and I love the Active users on the bottom of the screen.
Overall, 100/10 for the new forums! I'm lovin it.<3

The smilies here are the ones from the CP game. I'm aware of the white BG, there's nothing I can personally do to fix it as I don't have a program that can, but I have already gotten it taken care of and they smilies will be updated soon.

Since its the Club Penguin forum, we thought the actual Club Penguin smileys would look better here than the standard smilieys you get on Miniclip.

True, but they are all Cp, wich is good.
I don't know about the active users area on the bottom though, at one point there is gonna be a lot and it might make teh page load slower, who knows.

Wow! I really like it. I like the smilies, and i dont care about the white around them, since on my computer, i view it at an angle, where that doesnt show much.
Anyway, i like everything about this forum, especially the post game type section.
You guys did an awesome job at this forum ;)
Though i do think the other one looked neater, this one is better for CP things.

I saw that many people were complaining that the smilies had a white box around them so i decided to try to help. I made the background transparent on all of them. I know some of them look better than others but all i did was a quick background deletion. I can go back and make them all better if you want.

There's definitely less spam, which I am thankful for. On non-official forums like mine, they have the whole 'popular thread icon', like this one. I'm not so fond of that. Not sure why, maybe because I'm just used to Miniclip.

I didn't log in for one day, and already I can see that we are not off to a very good start.
Already there have been multiple threads locked and misplaced, and not to mention plenty of pointless threads.
It's very sad, people just post whatever they want for the heck of it.
Just as I had said in Mc, people just brought their old threads into this forum without even waiting.
People are still posting utter nonsense and spam.
The only difference is that there are more mods, which isn't all together true either since MC had many mods.
People think that a new forum was gonna change everything, yet not even an organized sub-forum filled place like this is keeping people from posting garbage.
It's inredibly sad that already people have negative ranks and this forum hasn't even been open for more than a couple of days.

People are getting busted for lots of things that they "got away" with on Miniclip. This is because we can afford to have several extra hands around on the forum specialized for CP. We urge people to read the rules to know what's not allowed. If they think they can wing it without rules and common sense, then we think that we can ban them. :P

More spam = more bans. If your message is under 35 letters it doesn't need to be posted, simple as that. People doing things to get around the filter get infractions, and after 5 you're gone. As for the filtered words, there is no good use for that word. If you are using it to describe someone's actual medical problems, you can say "mentally challenged" as that is more polite anyways.

Probably not, but you may have noticed that the profanity filter here leaves ***** in place of bad words, so we know when people are up to no good. If your post has those, use a different form of the word.

Yeah, I've noticed that the filters on these new forums have been extremely good in filtering bad words, and the names of other forums/chats.
Also, can we get something in place that prevents the use of more than [insert number here] of things like "!!!" "..." "???" and overuse of the same symbol/number/letter? I've seen tons of posts getting over the limit with a half thousand dashes or hyphons after the actual post.

Is there any way you could make it so that ONLY in the clubs and teams forum could you lock your own thread?
I say this because it seems that many people give up on a team thread in a couple days and just start a new one.
The rule is that you could only have one thread, and that you should lock any other existing clubs that you have made before you go on and make a new club.
I am constantly looking over the clubs and teams area, since it is the main area I look at, and I am always reporting people that have more than one team.
there is no problem when their first team threads are very old, because you can tell which of them is the one they want, but instead it is the people that have 2 or more new teams going on at the same time.
I put it in my guide, and it is in the other sticky thread, but some people just don't get it.
It might seem like I'm the only one that cares about it, but it is a problem that I see almost every day.
I don't chose to post in the threads, since reporting them is better, but I feel like I am hastling the mods to keep working in the clubs and teams.
I know IATEAFISH has responded to at least 5-10 of my reports, and there are more every day.
It's just a small problem now, but as teh forum grows so will the problem, just like in MC.
maybe you could make it so you could only have one thread made in the sub-forum, and you can't make any more.
Just thought ya'll should know.

There are two sticky threads there already. One which is tetsu's and one that is my guide which says:
26. Starting over
- It is always ok to start over. Many teams don't last very long, and it is a good way to learn from your mistakes.
- If you want to start over, or make a new team you must first have your old team thread locked by a mod or admin.
- Having more than one team thread at the same time is against the sub-forum rules. It can actually get all of your team threads locked, and yourself banned.
You can't get any clearer than that. NOt only that, but the rules have been the same since MC forums, which the majority moved from.
It's more about reprimanding ignorance, than repeating the same thing.

I think it's just a website filter, put in by the manufacturers of these types of forums to prevent competition. Since bribble is another sort of chat.
Also RFS, you never responded to if we could be allowed a maximum of punctuation or symbols in a post. That's how most people get over the 35 character limit.

Well, if that's even possible, it wouldn't work out. Sometimes, people create lengthy posts and if there is a limit to punctuation marks and symbols, then the post wouldn't come out right. It would be missing a few commas and periods, making it confusing for others. The best thing to do is what RFS and the staff has been doing (which is giving out infractions).

You have it all wrong. I don't mean a limit of "five periods or punctuations in a post", I want it (like Gamerboy clarified) to not allow over 3 (or whatever number) punctuation/symbol/letter in a row. So if someone made this post:
"Tat is rlly cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :| !!!!-_- :?: "

It wouldn't allow that.

I wonder if we should have an Emergency thread like we used to in MC.
Not becuase the report system doesn't work, but more for people to see what threads are being reported so they know where not to post.
Maybe as the threads are taken care of, the posts about them are deleted?
It just seems like many people don't have much sense in where to post.
Example:
Threads made by "TETSU GOT OWNED" where it is clear the person is just posting top get tetsu.
Or threads like http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/showthread.php?t=2184 where they say "give me your password, no scamming"
Also, sometimes no staff is on or there are questions or concerns that are too minimal to make a thread over.
I didn't see a problem with the emergency thread in MC, but for some reason it was taken out.

No, your posts were only about 10 characters and you used smilies to beat the limit. That is against the rules. You did not get in trouble for your off-topic posts. You were only punished for breaking the rules twice after being told not to.
These were your posts:
"Where are the maifya now? ? ? ? ? ?" (I removed 5 question mark smilies because I can't have that many smilies)
"I will be there in a second.:D :D :D :D :D"
That is obviously trying to avoid the limit. You're not going to convince anyone that you were "expressing your emotions." Follow the rules and you won't get in trouble. The ACP has already been warned that they're being watched for spam.

Since there is no post count, lots of users feel that it's pointless to post excessively now. Before this, people would create dozens of threads and post like crazy to increase their post counts. But with anything, there is always a negative connotation to it. In this case, it's less threads and posts.
So far, there is less spam and people are acting more mature on these forums than they used to. But like you said, the forum is becoming less and less active. I just hope that everything works out for the best (especially since there is no chance of post count coming back).

Sometimes its hard to find the sub-forum for something but I'll figure it out (someday) lol. It was a great idea to make these new forums! TIP: maybe when you type a post / thread you should be able to decide what type of writing you want such as arial, comic sans MS, or even times new roman. You might even be able to decide whether you want you letters to be size 12,10,14, or 16. Please consider those tips.

I had more of a question. Why isn't Vital Viper a Trainee Moderator anymore?

Yeah, I'm sure you were all over National Televison for being a good mod.
If you are so great of a mod, why can't you spell "you" correctly?

Yeah, I doubt you were on London TV for being a good mod. Your grammar and spelling isn't good, an you probably didn't read the rules about bugging the moderators about being a moderator.

I find being a Moderator bad. Because you can't make a club because everyone will want to join, you can't really make many sites because you will get spammed there. I was a Admin for a forum and did great, but I was strict so users started to hate me.

RFSHQ is never "spammed" by CP users. The RFSHQ trolls and moderators from Something Awful flame them until they leave. Works fine for me. Most CP players don't understand the concept/humor behind RFSHQ so they just get overly confused by not lurking and just make themselves look really dumb.

Can a mod please take care of this persons many team threads?

I reported it a couple days ago, but he continues to have them.
For the most part the mods are uslaluy attentive, but only Fish (in my opinion) has been the biggest help as a trainee.

Since the post rank thread is locked, i will post my question here.
Are you going to try to get rid of post count showing on profiles, or is it staying there?

You realized you just bumped a topic with the last post being in March. I apologize for back seat modding, but how could you not notice that? o.O

It was truly beautiful. Now it's just RR, RS, occasional boring GC, and that RoYaLeTTe girl. No one goes anymore, so it's eerie to be around. All the dust and thost who remember it's past enjoyment will get to ya :o
I tried to bump a cool thread and no one paid any attention to it. That's how lame that place is

I've seen on some forums that you can put a spoiler code. You click on the spoiler box if you want to see it. Don't you think it would be a good idea to add that code in? especially since this forum is full of spoilers, and you don't have to make spoiler threads, just discusion threads on whatever update and you can post teh spoiler within that.

Make your text white and do something like:
Blah blah blah Halo 3 this and this and that, and then there's this plot twist where (highlight for spoilers) Master Chief has a tea party and reveals Halo 3 is just a money scam.
It's an easy solution and would save a lot of unnecessary work.

Looking at the ranks and staff information thread, I have a question. How come you guys didn't go through with the idea of making everyone one rank like "registered user?" My apologies if it looks like I'm complaining, it really doesn't matter to me.

That's possible as well, but having the server recount titles is not something that I have the permission to do, so I'd have to set it up and then tell Ben to "press the Go button".
