Hey all you NBA fans. Here is the official thread for the 2007 NBA Playoffs. I will have a list of all the series that are currently being played in this year's playoffs, and I will update it after each and every game. The list can be seen below. I'm doing this with the NHL playoffs too so I thought I'd make a thread on the NBA Playoffs. And once we find out the second round matchups, 3rd, 4th, etc, I will post those as well.

Eastern Conference 1st-round:
Detroit vs. Orlando -- Detroit wins 4-0 (SWEEP!)
Miami vs. Chicago -- Chicago wins 4-0 (SWEEP!)
Toronto vs. New Jersey -- New Jersey wins 4-2
Cleveland vs. Washington -- Cleveland wins 4-0 (SWEEP!)

Western Conference 1st-round:
Golden State vs. Dallas -- Golden State wins 4-2
Houston vs. Utah -- Utah wins 4-3
Denver vs. San Antonio -- San Antonio wins 4-1
Phoenix vs. LA Lakers -- Phoenix wins 4-1

Eastern Conference 2nd-round:
Detroit vs. Chicago -- Detroit wins 4-2
New Jersey vs. Cleveland -- Cleveland wins 4-2

Western Conference 2nd-round:
San Antonio vs. Phoenix -- San Antonio wins 4-2
Golden State vs. Utah -- Utah wins 4-1

Eastern Conference Finals:
Detroit vs. Cleveland -- Cleveland wins 4-2

Western Conference Finals:
San Antonio vs. Utah -- San Antonio wins 4-1

*NBA Finals*:
SAN ANTONIO SPURS VS. CLEVELAND CAVS -- San Antonio WINS 4-0 (SWEEP!)

THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS ARE THE 2007 NBA WORLD CHAMPIONS! Congrats Spurs! Tony Parker wins NBA Finals MVP. This is the Spurs 4th championship in under 10 years -- amazing!

Great thread just be sure to keep it up to date.

I want the Heat to win it all this year just because they have been counted out after Wade got injured. No one though Shaq could carry the team like he did and if he can stay out of foul trouble against the Bulls than I think the Heat have a good chance and making it back to back championships. I still remember back in the day when Shaq was in college, and then when he was on the Magic *sigh* good times good times...

Nice thread! I really want Steve Nash and the Suns to win it all! Besides, I hate Kobe Bryant. He's a ball hog. :P

This playoff is kinda strange, I was thinking that the heat would destroy the Bulls, and I'm a New Jersey Nets fan... It's also strange that Golden State is beating Dallas, but hey, anything can happen.

Ok guys, It's fully updated. There were three sweeps in the first round in the Eastern Conference. Chicago swept the defending champs (the Heat, which was very surprising), the Cavs swept the Wizards, and Detroit swept Orlando.

There's still 3 series left. I'm excited for the 2nd round.
These playoffs have been awesome so far!

The sweeps in the east makes sence because of how diluted the east is. The west has lots of great teams and is exactly why The Warriors (an 8 seed) have the Mavrics (a one seed) on the brink of elimination. No need to wait for the second round, the best games of the first round have yet to be plaied!

OK well i think the bulls are gonna beat the pistons in 7 games because the bulls my favorite team and Ben Gordon is my faorite team cause he is from UConn and Luol Deng is just to much of a powerhouse for Rip, Rashhed, and the rest of the pistons

Heat - Next Year...

I want the Suns to win it all now. They were my pick to win it all from the start and I think once they've dispossed of the spurs, they'll trounce Utah and beat 'troit in the Finals. I really thought the Het could repeat. Even at 3-0 down, watching game 4 live, being up by 1 with about 2 minutes left, I thought we had a chance at winning the series, but we didn't even win the game. I'm not sure how many years the older heat players have left, but maybe next year can be the final chance at glory?

I think it is only a matter of time until the SPURS knock out the Jazz but the Jazz really got jiped by their own refs in game four.

As for the Pistons Cavs series I have watched and enjoied every game of it. People counted the Cavs out when the Pistons went up 2-0 but both of those games were very close. Once the Cavs got home court it proved to give them the edge they needed to cath up in the series.

As cool as a Spurs Pistons series would be I would like to see King James and the Cavs win it all.

Yea that was an AWESOME game!

Double Over Time, I was like :D

King James sure put the Cavs on his back, but I don't think he can get away with a stunt like that if he has to play the Spurz.

I wouldn't mind seeing this go to 7 as long as the Cavs win.

The Spurs will beat the Cavs if the Cavs make it. The Cavs can't only Rely on 1 player. On the hand the Spurs have 3 players who are scoring about 20 points each game. The players im talking about are HUNGRY for another ring. ;)

The Pistons were the ones down in the fourth, not the Cavs. After the first Q I knew the Cavs had a good shot at taking the series in 6 but after the 21 minute delay and their hoeeible 2nd Q I thought the Pistons were going to force a game 7. Tha Cavs came back in the 3rd and then in the 4th when Wallace got the double T and was suspended even if there was a game 7 I knew it was all over for the Pistons.

Can't wait for game one this Thursday.

Also Daniel Gibson came through for the Cavs in the foruth scoring 19 of his 31 ponts in that Q and hitting 4 3's, 3 of them coming in a row with 2:15 left.

Alright, the first post has been updated...

It's the NBA FINALS and I am so excited for the games to start. This will be a GREAT series between the Cavs and Spurs. Both of them are awesome teams and they both deserve to win. However, I'm rooting for the Spurs in this one. They have more veteran leadership, and they have the BEST and yet the most underrated player in the game, Tim Duncan. He's going for his 4th NBA Championship -- not many other players can say that. And yet he's still overshadowed by LeBron, Wade, Dirk, Kobe, etc, etc, but give me Duncan over any other player ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. His number of championships is better than ANYONES! He is consistent, and he's the best. LeBron is a great player, but I'm predicting that Duncan's team, the Spurs, win the Finals 4 games to 2 over Cleveland.

It should be a good series though. Game one can't come soon enough!

NO. Duncan is better than both of them. Did Kobe or Wade take their team to the NBA Finals? No. Does Kobe provide leadership with a good attitude? No. Has Kobe or Wade won as many championships as Duncan? No. Are they as good as Duncan? No, and here's why: Duncan is the best team leader in the league. He's consistent, he wins championships, and not many people in the NBA can compare to that! And YES, he IS underrated. YOU just underrated him yourself. All anyone ever talks about is Kobe, LeBron, and Wade. Even Dirk and KG. Duncan doesn't get much recognition at all. He finally got some against Utah, but who else are you supposed to talk about when you are playing the Jazz? They don't have any stars. Duncan is the best low postman in the league, and he can make all kinds of shots. Sure, Wade and Kobe are flashier than him, and they are known to score more points, but Duncan is a powerforward, and he's not a guard, so he doesn't get the chance to be small and flashy like the other two. Duncan provides more important things though: Leadership. He's won many championships, and he can still put up a good 30 points per game even at his age (he's getting a little older). But people, like you, don't realize that. Plus, he's amazing at defense. Wade and Kobe can't play defense AT ALL. Duncan is a 2-way player, and he's one of the most underrated players in the league, and he shouldn't be. But he will always be overshadowed by players like Kobe and Wade, just because they are so flashy ... people like you will never realize how good TD is. He is the best player of this decade, I don't care what anyone says. Even Bill Simmons, a sports guy at ESPN, wrote an article about that, so he agrees too.

The Spurs are one of the best teams ever. There lineup is stacked. To Prove it just look at there small forward position. Bowen and Finely. Not to mension Horry. 3....YES 3. Good SMALL FORWARDS. most teams have 2 small forwards on there roster and neither can play worth beans. I am a diehard Spurs fan and Im not afraid to show it. Spurs for team of the decade! Oh and for the guy who posted ahead of me......Tim WILL lead 4 teams to a championship when this series is over. no one can beat them.

And here are my responses (they correspond with your numbers)...

1.) You're telling me that you think Williams, Kirlinko, Okur, and Boozer are STARS? STARS?! When I say stars, I mean at the level of Wade, Kobe, Duncan, Nash, Arenas, Kidd, etc, etc ... Boozer maybe, but the other three are FAR from that caliber! They are good players, but not starts. And even Boozer is all washed up! Utah does not have a great team. So YOU get out of here.

2.) KG and Dirk are better? LOL. They are not even NEAR Tim Duncan, that was a laughable statement. How many championships have Dirk and KG won? Exactly! The answer is ZERO. How many championships has Duncan won? He's going for his FOURTH in under ten years. THAT is a complete player, and not many other players can do that. Tim Duncan is consistent, and he's a lot better than KG and Dirk. KG and Dirk CHOKE once they get into the playoffs. KG is a known customer of the "choking effect", and it happened to Dirk these past two seasons. They can't handle it, and not to mention they don't put up as good of points as Duncan either. Give me TD over either one of these guys any day of the week!

3.) Tim Duncan does not put up lay ups all the time. He goes for the fadeaway's, quick turn around jump shots, and everything. He does have a nice shot, and he is consistent from the field. Ummm .... I'd say he has a pretty good shot!

4.) You're saying Tony Parker is more of a leader than Duncan?!! LOL. That was an even FUNNIER statement, I must say. Parker is not much of a leader. Duncan is. If Duncan wasn't on this team, there's no way they would have won 3 championships in the past 10 years, and they wouldn't even be in the Finals right now. It's Duncan that's leading them. ENOUGH SAID.

5.) Those are just a few HIGHLIGHTS. THANK YOU.

Tim Duncan easily owns him at defense, and if you disagree then you know nothing about basketball.

6.) He still NEVER gets talked about, that's how he's underrated. The Finals haven't even started yet, and all everyone is talking about is LeBron and the Cavs! LeBron is getting all the recognition on SportsCenter, but this is the FIRST time he's ever made it to the Finals. This is Duncan's FOURTH. So why the heck is LeBron getting all the coverage? It will be like that for the whole series too, I bet ya.

Sure, he gets talked about some, but whenever he's matched up against a "superstar flashy player" then they always talk about the other player. He IS underrated.

7.) The question isn't whether he's top 15 or top 10. He's eaily both. The question is top TWO: He's one of the best in the game. And YES, he can take over a game, get him the ball under the post and he's unstoppable. Not to mention his leadership - he pumps up his team and helps them win. He's valuable.

8.) Are you stupid? No, I wouldn't believe YOU if you wrote that, because you're just a kid. An ACTUAL SPORTS WRITER than WORKS AT ESPN wrote and article saying Tim Duncan is the best. His name is Bill Simmons, and he actually knows what he's talking about unlike you. Not just anyone can write it. You have to work at ESPN ... WOW!

Well the Pistons were a "team" Team aswell and look what the Cavs did to them. I think the Cavs have a shot but the odds are not in their favor. Lebron proved in game 5 that he could do it all by himself when he had to, and then in game 6 when he was double and triple teamed he was still able to draw fouls and get the ball to wide open team mates. The Cavs are a young team but I think they are more of a wild card than everyone expects. But I agree that someone other than James is going to have to step up if the Cavs want to make this a good series. Thats all I want to see is good games, something I can tell my kids about when I grow up, lol. "yes son, I rember back in 07 when Lebron and the Cavs won their first championship..."

I feel the same as you on this one.

He took all the shots. Not that hard if my team gave me the ball every possesion to just shoot.

It is that hard. You would not score 35 on the Detroit Pistons you fool, not in a whole game, no way. He scored 35 in a row when his team needed it most.

Saying Wade and Kobe don't play D is laughable. Wade averaged nearly one block per game, one of the best averages for a gaurd. And, he's 6'3/6'4. Kobe averages around 1.5 steals per game every year. If those two had Duncan's size, they'd be sick, wicked and nasty on defense

I say Spurs in 5. Cavaliers are a team carried by Lebron James and thats about all they got. San Antonio is by far the deepest team in the N.B.A. and the Cavs are going to have trouble containing Duncan, Parker, Ginobli, Horry, and Finley. The Cavs are a good team but not good enough to beat an experienced powerhouse like the Spurs.

I hate the Spurs because they beat the Suns and I hate the Cavs because they beat the Nets.I hope they both lose.:|
I was on the Cavaliers in my Basketball league. So I guess I'll be rooting for them.

im very happy the spurs will win this cause LeBron or one person cant be the whole team. You gotta work as a team.

Wheres Kobe when he scored 80 in one game, not the NBA Finals

I am not a fan of ball hogs.

Well Lebron dosn't try to carry his team like Kobe does. Lebron uses the double team to open up options for his teammates. In the Pistons series he causght alot of stuff because he passed it out to a teammate who had a wide open three. Lebron is a team player but he needs some better players around him before they can get a championship. The Cavs will controll the east for a few years, they will have many more chances.

I would like to see the Cavs come back but I don't think it will happen. I expect them to win game 4 but the Spurz arn't going to pass up a chance to win at home.

Spurs will end up winning. I am going for them. But with 3-0 Spurs leading Cavies are going to put it all on the line tonight, im sure Cavies will win or it will be a super close game with Spurs winning

Edit what? EVIL LOL

and yes he was fouled and it was an intentional one. They tried to get him before he took the shot because they knew that if he got the shot off he would make it.

but yea the finals are more than likely over... better luck next year.

and vital kobe is the same way double team maybe even triple team and he kicks it out and his temates shoot it but they suck at shooting so you kno the ending.

Ok this is what i'm going to say. The Spurs are an experienced team that have won 3 times already. Game 1 they played FANTASTIC. Game 2 BEST GAME SO FAR!. Game 3 That was the game where they played the worst they can get. Like I said their experienced. Nobody has won a series when trailing 3-0 in the Play-offs. The Cavaliers arn't stepping up as a team. LeBron James is leading them however, that isn't enough. Sure Gibson, Hughes, and Zydrunas had their moments but, they still lost. Besides the it's their first year in the Finals for the Cavs. When LeBron passes people don't step up. When he attacks the basket the Cavs have a better chance of playing an All-Around Good Game.(they could win Game 4). The stats don't lie. Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker have been CRUSHING THE CAVALIERS! Oh,ya Heat4eva even if he was fouled He would of CHOKED. Look at the kid, it's the first time in the Finals. Point stated- Red

Lol they were debating this on last night and this mornings sport center. One said No the oother say yes.

Obviously, they are a new dynasty. Thye've won 5 Finals in the last 9 yrs. Ever since they've gotten Tim Duncan, parker, and Ginoblli thye've been unstopible. They are obviously going to win next yr unless some team gets very lucky in the draft. So that question was a no brainer. If they've won 5 finals in the last 9 yrs they're a dynasty no question about it.
